This was a self initiated project to create a typeface from cassette tape. I adore cassettes and have had the idea for a long time. I've been working on it for quite a while and think I still will be for quite a while more.
The original idea is create a typeface from the actual tape, utilising the natural curves and thick and thin qualities, much like calligraphy. The typeface would be non viable and most probably photographic. It's incredibly difficult to get tape to stay in place without gluing it and ruining the tape. After all my trails and errors I decided to get something down that may lead me somewhere, and that the typeface may have to be an illustration. Resulting in Tape Disasters. This work is still ongoing.
