I was lucky enough to visit Morocco on a drawing trip with the University. On the trip we started out in Marrakech then traveled into the Atlas mountains visiting a small village. We then moved onto Essouira on the coast and then back to Marrakech. On this trip I focused mainly on the plethora of patterns surrounding me and the intense colours on every surface.
For the trip I bound my own sketchbook from sheets of silkscreen scraps and new paper stock. The silkscreen scraps had colours and images on which I wanted to try and work into my sketches.
After the trip I continued to work on some of the patterns I had replicated, these took various forms, the main being etching and embossing.
I still have in mind to recreate a small book I produced whilst in Essouira compromising of the shop awnings I saw on the market stalls.
